The very first Ermenonville castle, was built in 987. In the Middle Ages, the castle is in the hands of feudal lords. During the Revolution, Ermenonville is temporarily renamed Jean-Jacques-Rousseau. Many great have come from Henri IV to Napoleon through Jean-Jacques-Rousseau.
