The Château de Pierrefonds (Pierrefonds Castle) is a major castle situated in the Oise département (Picardy) in France. The Castle includes most of the characteristics of defensive military architecture from the Middle Ages. Construction started in 1393. The restoration of castle was made by architect Viollet-le-Duc in 1857. It’s located 90km north of Paris, near Compiegne.
